Ahmedabad International Literature Festival Begins Its Second Decade in Grand Style

Ahmedabad, July 2, 2026:

The 11th edition of the Ahmedabad International Literature Festival (AILF), an initiative of Ikon Education Foundation, will be held on 24 and 25 October 2026 at The Ummed Ahmedabad, one of the city’s premier five-star hotels near Airport Circle.

Marking a significant milestone in the festival’s journey, the landmark edition will revolve around the inspiring theme, “Literature & the Echoes of Joy,” celebrating literature’s timeless ability to inspire, connect, heal, and enrich lives.

Having successfully completed a decade of literary excellence, AILF now begins its second decade with renewed vision and greater aspirations. Over the years, the festival has evolved into one of India’s respected literary and cultural platforms, bringing together eminent authors, poets, journalists, academicians, artists, filmmakers, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and thought leaders from across India and abroad.

This landmark edition promises two enriching days of engaging panel discussions, insightful conversations, author interactions, book launches, poetry sessions, classical performances, and a vibrant celebration of literature, arts, and culture.

Announcing the venue, Umashanker Yadav, Founder Director of the Ahmedabad International Literature Festival and Managing Trustee of Ikon Education Foundation, said:

“As AILF begins its second decade, we do so with renewed enthusiasm and an even greater sense of responsibility. Every edition has strengthened our belief that literature has the power to inspire minds, nurture empathy, encourage dialogue, and build a more thoughtful society. Hosting our landmark 11th edition at The Ummed Ahmedabad reflects the festival’s continued growth and our commitment to offering an even richer experience to our participants and audiences.”

Speaking about this year’s theme, he added:

“‘Literature & the Echoes of Joy’ is an invitation to rediscover the happiness, hope, wisdom, and human connection that literature offers across generations. We especially hope to inspire children and young adults to embrace reading, critical thinking, creativity, and meaningful dialogue, enabling them to become informed, compassionate, and responsible citizens.”

Mr. Yadav also expressed his heartfelt appreciation to Mr. Rahul Mallick, General Manager, The Ummed Ahmedabad, and Mr. Satish Kumar, Director of Sales, The Ummed Ahmedabad, for their warm cooperation, unwavering support, and enthusiastic collaboration in partnering with the festival. He said their encouragement and shared vision have played an important role in ushering AILF into this exciting new chapter.

Continuing its long-standing commitment to making literature accessible to all, the festival will once again offer free entry to every visitor.

The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) has joined the festival as the Cultural Partner, while the Kalorex Group is the School Partner, Sahitya Manch the Literary Partner, SERENE FILMS the Cinema Partner, and Serene Publishers and Distributors the Publishing Partner. The organisers are also looking forward to the support and participation of additional government bodies, educational institutions, corporate organisations, and cultural institutions in the coming weeks.

The official festival poster will be unveiled shortly, following which invitations will be extended to distinguished authors, speakers, performers, and panellists from India and abroad.

The organisers have also invited volunteers, educational institutions, literary enthusiasts, and supporters to join hands in making the 11th edition of the Ahmedabad International Literature Festival a memorable celebration of literature, ideas, creativity, and culture.
