A media research initiative has introduced a career guidance e-book and audiobook designed specifically for visually impaired students studying at the higher secondary level. The project aims to provide simple, accessible, and structured information to help students make informed career choices.
The content focuses on key areas such as self-assessment, career options after 10th and 12th, higher education opportunities, skill-based training, and employment preparation. It also highlights the importance of early planning for students in classes 9 and 11, encouraging them to identify their interests and build essential skills during their academic journey.
To ensure accessibility, the e-book has been developed in a screen-reader-friendly format, while the audiobook allows students to access the same information through audio. This approach makes learning more flexible and inclusive.
The project also emphasizes the role of technology and practical skills in modern careers, guiding students towards opportunities in education, digital work, and self-employment. In addition, it provides support for career readiness through basic guidance on communication and professional development.
An evaluation process has been included to assess the usefulness of the content, focusing on clarity, accessibility, and its impact on students’ confidence and decision-making.
This initiative reflects a step towards inclusive career guidance, ensuring that visually impaired students have access to the information they need to build a confident and independent future.
