Ahmedabad-based Serene Films is set to captivate cinephiles with a special screening of its recently produced short films, Heer Aur Ranjha (Hindi) and Sukhnath Mogra Ni Varta (Gujarati), at Club Babylon’s theatre tomorrow.
Founded in 2024 by visionary entrepreneur Umashanker Yadav, Serene Films has made an impressive debut by producing two high-quality short films within its first year. Heer Aur Ranjha is a modern retelling of the legendary love story, written and directed by Tamal Dutta, while Sukhnath Mogra Ni Varta, a psychological drama exploring themes of faith, love, loss, and reunion in tribal life, is written and directed by Omkar Pethkar.
What makes these films even more special is that the entire team, except for the lead actors, is making their film industry debut—a testament to Serene Films’ commitment to nurturing fresh talent. The Hindi short film, Heer Aur Ranjha, stars renowned theatre and Gujarati film actors Netri Trivedi and Hardik Shastri, with a captivating background score composed by Prasun Ghosh and stunning cinematography by Vraj Shah.
Meanwhile, Sukhnath Mogra Ni Varta promises an immersive cinematic experience with its gripping narrative, breathtaking visuals, and masterful direction by Omkar Pethkar.
Looking ahead, Umashanker Yadav also announced Serene Films’ upcoming feature film, slated for release during Diwali 2025, reaffirming the company’s commitment to producing high-quality, thought-provoking content.
